To do that you have to know where to look\, to the source of liberty — God\, good itself\, all-inclusive.\nCircumstances often present what appear to be significant obstacles to living freely\, something that everyone wants to do\, says Nicole Virgil. Whatever it is that seems to stand between us and the full range of motion that we would like to have in our lives — it’s not so much the presenting impediment that is the problem — it’s not knowing how or where to access our God-given liberty. \nJoin us for this free Christian Science talk with international speaker and Christian Science healer\, Nicole Virgil on Friday\, May 29\, at 7 p.m.\, at the Dungeness River Nature Center (1943 W. Hendrickson Rd.\, Sequim) The talk is free\, open to the community\, and hosted by First Church of Christ\, Scientist\, Sequim. \n“In this talk\,” says Nicole\, “we will examine liberty from a Biblical perspective; and see how real people today find their freedom from all kinds of physical\, emotional and circumstantial restrictions that seem clearly beyond their control so that they may Be Set Free.” \nAbout Nicole Virgil\n \nNicole’s father was a freelance church organist\, and her parents attended services at many different Christian churches in New England. Her mom had been on a years-long search to find out how to practice Christian healing just as Jesus did\, and when she started attending Christian Science church services\, she found what she was looking for. As a result\, Nicole was raised in Christian Science\, and developed a deep desire for an intimate relationship with God. \nNicole studied Christian Science with her mom and music with her dad\, and found that each discipline complemented the other. Christian Science healed performance anxiety\, while learning music honed the skills she needed for spiritual practice — skills such as intuition\, listening\, patience and diligence. \nThroughout her life\, Christian Science and music have always overlapped. After studying opera at music school\, she took her one-woman opera review program (That Can’t Be Opera!) on the road\, educating audiences about opera by singing Mozart\, Puccini and Menotti. \nChristian Science guided her through this entrepreneurial endeavor\, just as it led her to start soloing in churches as a teenager (which is something she still loves to do!). DESCRIPTION:The Science of God and Its Power to Heal Us\nA FREE Inspirational Talk\nby Nikki O’Hagan\nThe current matter-based scientific model many questions unanswered and has some thinkers and scientists questioning if it is still the right model.\nIt is interesting to consider if the time has now come for another major paradigm shift in science – a shift that would include God as the center and circumference of all existence. This paradigm shift in thought begins with the questions – how does science relate to God and is there a science that explains God? \nNikki O’Hagan\, practitioner of Christian Science healing and international speaker will address these questions and show how the Science of God explains Jesus’ healings\, and teachings\, makes God knowable and understandable\, and provides humanity with a safe and reliable means for caring for ourselves and each other. \nJoin us for Nikki’s talk\, “The Science of God and its Power to Heal Us” at 2:00PM on Saturday\, May 31\, in Gig Harbor\, WA. The talk is free\, open to the community\, and hosted by First Church of Christ\, Scientist\, Gig Harbor at Gig Harbor Public Library (4424 Point Fosdick Drive). \nNikki will also share some of her own experiences of the transforming\, healing power of God gained through understanding this Science of God\, or Christian Science. She will explain how this healing happens\, and what role consciousness plays in the process. \nAbout Nikki O’Hagan\nNikki grew up in South Africa where she gained a love for being outdoors and enjoying the beauty and promise of nature. From a young age she had a strong desire to not just experience life\, but to understand it. She used to exasperate her dad by following up every explanation he gave her by asking “but\, Why?” While Nikki did grow up attending Christian Science Sunday School\, as a teen she decided that this would not be the way for her to gain the understanding of life that she was seeking\, and she headed off in another direction. \nSeveral years followed in which she desperately tried to find happiness and to understand the Why of life. She looked everywhere and tried everything (even jumping out of an airplane!) but nothing brought answers\, happiness or lasting peace. Rather than finding an understanding of life\, it all seemed to just get darker and make less and less sense. \nAnd then a transformational healing brought her back to Christian Science\, where she found comfort\, peace\, mercy\, happiness\, harmony\, health\, and home in the arms of divine Love. Nikki then discovered that she loved the infallible logic of the Science of Christianity\, and found in it all the answers to her Whys. Life and God finally began to make sense and became full of joy\, light\, and love. Her gratitude for this pivotal healing\, and the salvation it brought her by setting her on the path of Christian Science\, was–and still is–unbounded. Since that time all she has wanted to do is love and serve God\, and love and serve others. \nThrough her study and practice of Christian Science\, Nikki has experienced and witnessed so many healings over the years. Her earnest desire is for all to know the transformational healing power of divine Love. DESCRIPTION:Dr. John M. Tutt received an M.D. degree in 1901. He had a Christian Science healing in 1905 and left the medical profession to become a Christian Science practitioner and teacher. We’ll read his article “Mary Baker Eddy: Her influence upon medicine\,” originally published in 1966 in The Christian Science Journal and reprinted in Mary Baker Eddy: A Centennial Appreciation. And we’ll listen to two more of his Journal articles (including “Wiser than serpents”) that have been reprinted and recorded in pamphlets and Anthology of Classic Articles.

She will explain how this healing happens\, and what role consciousness plays in the process. \nAbout Nikki O’Hagan\nNikki grew up in South Africa where she gained a love for being outdoors and enjoying the beauty and promise of nature. From a young age she had a strong desire to not just experience life\, but to understand it. She used to exasperate her dad by following up every explanation he gave her by asking “but\, Why?” While Nikki did grow up attending Christian Science Sunday School\, as a teen she decided that this would not be the way for her to gain the understanding of life that she was seeking\, and she headed off in another direction. \nSeveral years followed in which she desperately tried to find happiness and to understand the Why of life. Nikki then discovered that she loved the infallible logic of the Science of Christianity\, and found in it all the answers to her Whys. Life and God finally began to make sense and became full of joy\, light\, and love. Her gratitude for this pivotal healing\, and the salvation it brought her by setting her on the path of Christian Science\, was–and still is–unbounded. This better concept of God brought healing changes to my life in a way that was deep and lasting. \nBuilding this new foundation began when my mother-in-law introduced me to Christian Science. As I explored the ideas in the Bible and the Christian Science textbook\, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy\, I began to get a very different view of God. Never before had I encountered the idea that God is not merely sometimes good or just a little bit good\, but all good\, only good\, always. To think of God as pure goodness\, and to discover that this same all-good God was the source of what I am and what everyone is without exception\, was\, to me\, a new and life-changing way to think about existence. \nThese new ideas showed me the power of God\, divine goodness\, at work in all of our lives–providing solutions to challenges such as sickness\, dishonesty\, and career setbacks\, which often seem like they can shake our foundation and connection to what’s good. This had a practical effect in my own life\, bringing a quick healing of a long-standing food allergy. The talk is free\, open to the community\, and hosted by First Church of Christ\, Scientist\, Vancouver\, WA in their church building at 204 East Fourth Plain\, Vancouver\, WA. \nAbout Alexandre Fischer\n \nPracticing law in France and the United States for several years informed Alexandre’s practice of Christian Science. The law was not just his job\, he says\, it was his passion. To Alexandre\, being a good lawyer meant exercising the ability to think precisely and feeling a desire to help others get out of trouble. \nDuring his years as a lawyer\, his interest in Christian Science grew. At first\, he was impressed by its remarkable healings and resolutions\, but as he dug deeper\, he found a profound spirituality. He used to believe that religion and spirituality meant accepting a system of beliefs and letting go of discernment and critical thinking. But the more he studied and practiced this spirituality\, the more he found that one’s relationship with God requires critical thinking to understand spiritual concepts. These concepts can in turn be applied to one’s life to bring healing. \nGradually\, he gave up his law practice to become a full-time Christian Science practitioner. Alexandre still works to help others “get out of trouble\,” that is\, to overcome a sense of limitation and to find freedom. \nAlexandre discovered that Christian Science is not just about feeling better or fixing problems. It’s about being willing to challenge one’s world view as entirely molecule-based and soulless\, to be open to see the world as spiritually-based\, and experience how this change in perspective brings inner peace and healing. Christian Science helps us understand our relationship with God\, infinite good\, more clearly.
