Christian Science Institutional Work

Christian Scientists have been serving as “religious workers” in Washington state institutions and care facilities for more than a century. That means they support residents of local jails, state prisons, mental institutions, juvenile homes and care facilities through a variety of activities, including:

  • meeting one-on-one with residents or inmates
  • conducting Sunday Christian Science services
  • conducting Sunday School classes
  • supporting branch church-sponsored lectures

Joint Literature Distribution Committee

The Christian Science Literature Joint Distribution Committee in Bothell, WA, gives Christian Science literature to people who want it, including those new to Christian Science, dedicated members of the Christian Science church, and anyone in between.

They accept used Christian Science literature and other items and redistribute it. The committee also does outreach projects with new and used Christian Science literature and supports Christian Scientists involved in outreach by providing free literature, a community network, and a place to share experiences.
